Ninja Samurai Yakyuu Desu

What happens if you stick a ninja and a samurai in baseball?? Also known as How Baseball came to Japan.

Old Manga Idea from forever-ago...

A Ninja and a Samurai are fighting at night in ancient Japan when they end up in a tremendously thick fog and reappear in the future (read present day Japan), where they are found by a teenaged mini-league baseball player. He stops them from killing each other by imploring to their honour and asking for help in baseball. They join his team (cuz they're approx. the same age), but must learn everything (pitching, hitting, teamwork, etc) in order to help the boy win, cuz his team actually sucks miserably.

For reference: the samurai starts off thwacking the ball into the ground like it's a leaf he has to strike.... with a sword. By the end he's an amazing batter, cuz he got the reflexes. NOt so good at throwing though, since that would be unhonourable :P

The ninja throws a wicked sidearm, but but is incredibly disappointed that his ball doesn't have deadly weapons on the end... he also is great at running bases, but isn't so good at batting.

Somehow, every person he approaches for this chooses a song that they once held dear to them for emotional reasons, but now no longer really listen to. When they hear it for the first time in a while, they remember what memory they held dear with this song, and how they felt. They, in essence, regain themselves. My Life Sucks, but not as much as my playlist!

Some teenager fills his mp3 player with tons of BAD music that he hates, and uses it as a pick me up to make himself feel better. ("My girlfriend dumped me, and my parents are getting divorced, but seriously, my life is still better than this crap that I listen to!" etc.)...

Soon he finds other people who have had bad days, etc, and he simply offers them an earbud. They, too, find themselves feeling better because their life is better than "this crap" that he gives them to hear. They are encouraged to do better, and then go on to become happier people, despite their misfortune.

This phenomenon goes on to be discovered by local news, and the teen becomes a celebrity. His different and eccentric style of motivation gets him on talk shows, and he ends up writing a book.

However, slowly, the songs on his playlist begin to mean something to him, and he begins to like the music not for the music, but for the emotional attachments he has towards the songs.

One day, he meets a girl who likes his plahlist a lot (obviously, she's tone deaf or something), but that he too is enamored by. Thus begins his foray into the unknown, and where he learns that the true meaning of happiness lies not from music, or songs, or anything of that sort, but in the memories one makes with other people, and in being with others....?
