Just a story idea that popped into my head on Christmas eve (more like EARLY EARLY Christmas morning) in the car coming home. I wrote it all down when I got home, but thought I'd put it here as well. An actual finished story on this blog! Someone be amazed!! XD
In the Space of a Red Light
Natalie was tired.
She was tired enough to think that pulling out a gun and shooting a street lamp (just so she could say that she had) was a good idea.
She was also too tired to actually do it. Not to say she even had a gun to shoot, persay (but perhaps she had) but it was a good idea, she thought.
So she sat there in the back seat of the car, giggling softly. The car had stopped at a red, and was taking forever to start again. And that damned light, the one directly overhead. It wouldn't stop flickering! It was driving tired little Natalie crazy, and she wondered how much less annoying it would be if it would just STOP THAT DARNED FLICKERING!!
She could imagine what it would be like to tell her classmates about it. They wouldn't believe her at first, but then she would show them the shards of glass, or maybe take them to the scene. They'd be amazed, awestruck, even. She would be celebrity of the week at school. She smiled smugly. That would show Emilee... after kicking her out of the group. They'd said Natalie was worthless; what would they say then? They'd beg her to reconsider. Natalie would take her sweet time, until she did the inevitable and went back to the group.
That STUPID flickering was going to drive Natalie mad! She closed her eyes, plugged in her earbuds, and turned on her music. It soothed her, her music, with its gentle melodies and lilting harmonies. She was almost lulled to sleep when she heard the driver say something. Natalie opened her eyes, grunting in reply. She brushed her short blonde hair away from her face. it was obvious her brain was elsewhere, on that DREADFUL lamp post, but she smiled nontheless and pretended to understand the conversation in the car.
Pity her music was still playing.
She was seriously starting to consider shooting that light. If not that night, then the next one. She would bring something next time, a slingshot or a rock. She would throw it, if need be. Anything to be rid of that seizure waiting to happen.
Would it explode? Maybe glass shards would rain down, cutting anyone below. If so, natalie would have to find a way to do it from farther away; getting hurt or dead was not part of the plan. How high was it? Throwing rocks seemed out of the question, so perhaps projectile weaponry was the best idea.
But this was all turning rather bothersome. Too much effort for Natalie to handle. All she really needed was laservision. That would do it. Or maybe she should just leave the infernal. REPETITIVE. USELESS. Lamp.
Or maybe not.
The traffic light turned green, and Natalie drove away, the flickering lamp already drifting, forgotten, to the back of her tired mind.

In the Space of a Red Light (aka shooting lamps)
As told by a Side Character
I swear I'm going crazy :P Great story ideas and the like! wooot!!
"You can be the main character of your own life, or you can be the side character of life. Your choice. What will you choose?"
The story will be about a girl... that isn't particularly special. She doesn't have anything that important in her life, nor do many things interesting happen to her. However, she knows people. She knows a lot of people. And despite the fact that she has no qualities that would lead her to be a main character, she has the capability to be the side character to a lot of lives around her, and to strangers not near her.
The book would be a compilation of short stories, all in first person narrative, I guess. Each one will be about the narrator and an important event in their lives, but the climax or the important event would not occur without this girl. She never really gets to narrate (except perhaps the prologue and epilogue?), she only has the chance to be a part of many people's stories. And she has the capability to shape all of these, be it for better or for worse.

Works in Progress
Reminder to self: actually work on Type/Cast. :P
Yeah, just so you all know, I'm actually working on a comic. It's actually being scripted :O Be proud of me, I've never done that before. I usually just work page-to-page, so this is new. Like, before, i had an idea of what had to happen, and the story would be great, and then I'd just draw pages accordingly until the story was over. Now, this feels much more more organized.
Also, this actually has a deadline! It's not like I'm being paid or anything, but if I get called back as a finalist for a scholarship I'm entering, I need to bring this. Cuz I said I would. *is an idiot, and could have brought anything else* lol but this way, they get to see my most current work! XDDD
If you actually know me, please pester me about it. I keep forgetting to work on this.
Wish me luck!! Further updates will come sporadically, whenever I get an idea. XD
EDIT!!
The scholarship people sent me a letter... I didn't get to finalist, so I can put Type/Cast on hold for a bit. I'll still work on it, sure, but less. It's not as important to finish the first bit right now, since I didn't get the finalist bit. I don't mind, since this way, i can make it as good as I want it :D

New Story idea #1: The Clandestine Classmate
In a normal high school in a normal town not unlike yours (except for the shady and secretive governmental lab north of it), there is a student body that one would consider very exemplary, if not normal. Among these students, there is a girl named Jessie Priest who is well-liked, if not a bit more normal and a bit more exemplary than the rest of the students. Very little students did not know of her, since she left such a big mark on her school. However, she and her school were not as normal as they would have imagined.
This school, normal on first glance, is actually a site of secret governmental experimentation. In this school's air system, the laboratory is testing a dangerous toxic gas, completely undetectable by normal scientific means. The only evidence that it even exists is the hallucinogenic aftereffects. With the gas killing them slowly over time, the children and their families have no choice but to live their lives ignorant of their own fate. Unbeknown to the rest of the student body, Jessie Priest is only a hallucination, the amalgamation of the thoughts of the student body.
However, there is one student who knows what's going on and who can help save the students. Danae, who's father works at the secretive lab, is the best friend of Jessie, and one day she uncovers some information that may save many lives, but end one life very important to her, not to mention her father's professional career...
Will she have the courage to expose the truth and save her school? Will she have the courage to betray the ones she loves the most? Read "The Clandestine Classmate" and find out.
Coming... most likely never.

Tastes of Yellow
WTF? TASTES OF YELLOW???
Yes. That's what it's called... I think it's from... Iunno, a conversation I was having with my brother or something. Pretty interesting, yes? I thought it was catchy... XD
This blog's pretty much going to be where I dump my fiction junk. It may become a Web comic if I have the time/drive to make one. (If I make this into a web comic, I will be moving to wordpress. Until then, it's just a vomit-board) I might put in some random story info, etc. Like, if I were to start writing a story, some character and background info might be thrown here. The reason? Just so that I can keep track of all my different ideas. Like, the labels can sort them for me :P
So yes... that's all for an intro, I guess...
Until next time (I think)!
